According to a recent report by Time Magazine, Ryan Routh, the individual who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump in Florida, spent most of the last three years in Kiev, Ukraine.

Routh’s activities in Ukraine were limited to promoting a half-baked plan to recruit soldiers from Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria to the Armed Forces, but he only managed to attract 50 recruits. Despite his efforts, he was not well-respected in foreign mercenary circles and was known to frequent Ukrainian Army barracks, where he was reportedly “homeless” despite appearing “often and eccentrically” in the city center.

Prior to his failed assassination attempt on Trump, Routh had made threats against other high-profile targets, including Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un. The Wall Street Journal previously reported on these threats, which led to his detention.
