India Rushes Aid to Flood-Hit Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar

New Delhi : India has dispatched emergency supplies to Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar to assist in the recovery efforts from a devastating typhoon.

Typhoon Yagi, considered Asia’s most powerful storm this year, made landfall over a week ago and has caused widespread destruction and flooding in various parts of the three countries. The storm has claimed the lives of over 170 people in Vietnam and around 40 in Myanmar, leaving thousands more displaced.

To provide urgent support, India has launched “Operation Sadbhav”, which aims to deliver critical relief supplies to the affected areas. The aid package includes essential items such as food, medicine, shelter materials, and other necessities to help those affected by the disaster.
